The pic showing is the million dollar view from HK. I’m not a professional photographer, so not sure… if professional photographer see this pic, they may say “this guy don’t know how to shoot photo!! Horrible!!" But I think the pic looks pretty good, I mean beautiful.
So... think step forward: what makes me think this photo is beautiful? I'm not just saying the lighting skyscrapers are beautiful. I see multiple layers of beauty in this pic. Different objects channeling each other and making harmony. Yes, it is just like the dish is composed by meat, vegetable puree, sauce and small garnishes on one plate.... I see this pic as follows:
1.the different shape of skyscrapers. By itself, these are beautiful yet, "cold" and "mechanical"
2. the different color of lighting. I think this is the "core" of this pic. Giving kinda "texture" into the pic.
3. the big majestic cloud, beauty of mother nature I think those gave good "contract" with those building and lighting mankind made. It is "warm"
4. the rainbow reflection on the ocean. I think without this or not, the entire impression on this pic will be changed. Kind of small garnishes on the plate. Makes huge difference.
As I mentioned previously on “my inspiration: ideology”, art of visual, beauty of presentation is crossing over multiple field. Cooking, photography, graphic design, architecture, painting... different ideology, yet not so far from each other. I believe understanding the motive / ideology of photographers will open new sense of thought in cooking.
I’m currently working on couple dishes inspired by this pic.... Well, more like make some homework for stupid unemployee....
1. the dish remind people the braveness of mother creation “cloud” but not using foam, cotton candy. New technique to make "cloud" like.
2. wow presentation dish utilize mirror inspired by reflection on the ocean in this pic.
3. the dish is called “rainbow light”, “night ocean” & "Jade blue"
Not easy homework, but these will be fun!
