7/28/13-8/5/13: Warsaw, Poland
After 10 hrs plus, long bus ride from Frankfurt... I arrived at .... CJWDT 38th countries: Warsaw, Poland! I stayed in Poland over a week, it was due to get my new Japanese passport. Warsaw is a great city to walk around. During my time I found some free outdoor event like movies, concerts and sleeping on the hammock(laugh)... it turn out a nice staying, although I got no stage....
CJWDT Local eats... tried several Polish dishes, the following is couples note from my munch in Warsaw>>
Jewish caviar: This is actually out of my homework, I saw on the menu and order right away with no idea what the hell it is! It's the mixture of calves liver, boiled egg & onion coming with breads. Taste was okay.... would say very unique flavor nothing compare to what I taste before. At this moment I don't have clear idea how I can turn this into something, but I'd like to keep this on my file.
Pierogi: First thing I ate in Warsaw! I tried 3 different ways, pan fried, simmering in savory sauce and also as a dessert .... Nnn.. it was all good, but I may have to say the dough was too thick for me(even though understanding thick skin is better to merging in the thick sauce), personally I prefer more thin dough like Chinese pot sticker. Think about it... I prefer thin crust pizza, skinny French fries... everything skinny & thin... even humans! Oops... so what I'd do with Pierogi: I'm thinking maybe I should cross over pierogi into 'bagel'. .... may work as nice amuse or even pre-dessert???

Zurek: sour rye soup, on CJWDT: Slovakia, let's talk about bread again! Bread is like enchanter like potato, I mean low food cost, high volume!! Bread could be used many ways, can be binder for hamburger, thicker for sauce, 'mold' for presentation like tomato & kabocha, can turn into garnish like croutons, crust, panade, drink, soup, pudding, bra bra bra... To me it's more like hard to find what bread can't do! So obviously I have many working title with bread on, such as bread & butter / corn bread / bread & chocolate / bread n' salad..... can you develovison?

Golabki: Golabki a.k.a. roll cabbage... reminds me all different farci I have done, cabbage, swiss chard, squash blossom, my own bok choy pillow(FR China pig).. if I include roulade & sushi... will be over hundreds of rolls!! These could turn into different forms such as 'ravioli', 'lasagna', 'tacos', e.t.c.... and also not everything, but utilize some techniques, can be 'reversed' the stuffing as well. what could be next roll for me... oyster with lard? prosciutto with melon? would love to do dessert though, that gonna be....
