10/2/14-10/9/14: Paris, France
CJWDT'14 "Reboot, retrieve & rebirth" European tour 3rd stop, Paris, France! It was great to be back in Paris, I have been Europe almost every year since 2010(precisely except 2011), but coming Paris is since 2006 when I came to stage Sandrens, Le Relais d'Autuil & 6,7 other restaurants. Walking down some of the streets recalled my memories back in time.... if I remembered right, I used to live nearby Bastille.....
I say France, Spain & Italy are 3 top gourmet capitals of Europe and one thing in common which is hard to get stage unless you speak their native languages + long commitment. This time I sent more than 10 resumes(in English), got no stage set! And actually I never staged in Spain & Italy(*even I sent many resumes, all was unsuccessful)... it's quite a shame for 'possibly' global stage record holder, mmm.... must make it one day! Anyway just note to culinary nomad, setting up couple days stage in Paris is really hard unless you speak French & commit long term(maybe starting a week???). I would say much better chance to knock the doors which I did on 2006, but this time I chose extra munching action.
Without saying there never be the shortage of munching or 'to go' list in Paris, after multiple research, my list came down to 10,12 restaurants. One thing I noticed is there're lots of Japanese chefs in Paris. I know there's always mucho JP stagire in Paris, but many seems successfully building the career afterwards. Some of the restaurants I enjoyed would be Caillebotte, Le servan, L'Office & Le Dauphin. The places I missed from my list would be Le Chauteaubriand, Septime, Bones & others.... Some highlight munching pictures@Paris is as follows >>

And...
Paris rocks, first Sunday of the month, the Louvre museum and
some other museum get free entry!! It was my shame to miss on my last
visiting, but this time I made it. The Louvre museum is gigantic more
than I thought and overflowing with the inspirations. Some random shots
from Louvre to close this post. The food is not the only culinary
inspiration.....
